This is a long process, but we have been contacting city officials behind the scenes by phone, email and Zoom as well as industry officials. Unfortunately for the last 9 months we have been unable to give presentations to meetings of various civic groups due to COVID and it is hard to collect signatures during this time. However, if you have not signed our online petition at https://www.ecoshasta.org/redding-tree-ordinance-2/ or our paper one, please do so as we have not yet reached 1000 signatures.
Keep us notified if you see trees being cut down on lots over one acre that aren’t a planned development as we have started to increase our notification to the City of violation of the ordinance. Do you see equipment parked under oak trees in a new subdivision? That is a violation of the ordinance. No equipment should be stored under a tree during the construction phase.
